T O P I C R E V I E WbrianwatsonI wrote to NASA shortly after the Apollo 11 mission returned back to Earth to congratulate them on their successful landing and return.I received the following card from them shortly afterwards:Are these cards very rare and do they hold much value?I wish to pass this onto my grandchildren.RegardsBrianLCDR Scott SchneeweisThe signatures are photoreplicated autopens (machine generated)...as ephemera only my guess maybe in the 5-10 dollar range? ------------------Scott Schneeweishttp://www.SPACEAHOLIC.com/Bob MMy guess would be more than $5-10 and would be a nice addition to any Apollo 11 collection - don't remember ever seeing one before, but surely they aren't rare. BMcspaceman1953So how many of you guys got these? These are totally printed, the autographs are not autopens, just totally printed. Who knows what flight they started/ended with? Thanks to all!fabfivefreddyI have seen these before. A few (very rarely) out there have some personalized and signed inscriptions from one or two of the astronauts, usually on the back or top. What I love about this is that it was sent to YOU. That is really cool! I would have Buzz Aldrin and/ or Collins sign it at one of the spacefest meetings. That way you have the envelope, the card, and even an autograph! Tahir ------------------ www.silicondisc.com garymilgromTahir has the right idea. Adding autographs would be nice but adds significant cost and is not essential. Have it dry mounted (to flatten) and nicely framed and your family will have a great memento of Apollo 11 and you (as addressed to yourself).Nice piece!Gary Milgrom www.spacegary.com
